Eligibility

"Thank you for the opportunity to be in TRIO" - 11th grader

To be eligible to join KU TRIO Talent Search, students must:

  • Be at least 11 years of age
  • Completed the fifth grade
  • Live in Wyandotte County
  • Enrolled in middle or high school
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Have a desire to pursue college and obtain a postsecondary educational degree (e.g., vocational certificate, associate's degree, or bachelor’s degree)

To apply for our free college preparation services, please complete the form below to request a middle school or high school application form (applications also available in Spanish). We will accept eligible students until we have filled all available spots in our program.

KCKPS Schools

  • Talent Search serves KCKPS middle and high school students at Argentine, Arrowhead, Carl B. Bruce, Central, Eisenhower, Gloria Willis, Rosedale, F.L. Schlagle, J.C. Harmon, Sumner Academy, Washington, and Wyandotte

Wyandotte County Students

  • Students who live in Wyandotte County but attend non-KCKPS Schools may apply to receive limited services.
